Job Description

Ongoing Job Vacancy at Sensient Technologies Corporation for the position of Customer Service Rep for immediate employment.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:

What you’ll do

  • Order processing of all customer orders
  1. Order processing within our ERP-system (JD Edwards), e.g. checking order details, order entry, x-references, order acknowledgement
  2. Respond to customer requests for order changes, delivery status, document requests etc.
  • Manage central orders email address; respond to emails, forward emails for other departments to the relevant person/s etc.
  • Customer complaints, e.g. organisation of replacement, return of goods
  • Coordination with internal departments
  • Issuing invoices and credit memos to customer
  1. Loading invoices/credit memos on customer portals
  • Prepare daily OTIF report
  • Monitor recommits
  • Update order acknowledgement tracker
  • Prepare and email new order summary sheet daily
  • Maintain/update customer preferences, print messages and order acknowledgment email addresses
  • Maintain delivery notes –
  1. Ensure all signed delivery notes are received from our transporter in a timely manner and are saved on the server
  2. Ensure all physical/paper delivery notes are filed by month and stored in the archive room as a backup
  • Answer incoming calls on Sensient’s landline

  • Matric Exemption (Grade 12) Certificate
  • A minimum of 5 years’ of professional experience in Customer Service/Sales Assistant, work experience in the food ingredients/FMCG/business-to-business is advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise workload and handle multiple tasks in an effective manner
  • Excellent communication skills, experience in working both autonomously as well as in a team
  • High performance individual with a strong work ethic
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge and/or experience in dealing within an ERP system, e.g. JD Edwards, Salesforce are an advantage
  • Knowledge of required documentation and logistics for exports is advantageous
  • Very good English language skills (fluent in spoken and written), other additional language proficiencies are an advantage
