Bell Equipment South Africa is looking to hire a Assistant Cost Accountant with excellent organizational and analytical skills. Assistant Cost Accountants are expected to be detailed oriented, knowledgeable on statistics, have strong problem-solving skills, work comfortably under pressure, and deliver on tight deadlines.

The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:
-Support and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and financial records of the organisation.
-Maintain knowledge of financial policies, practices, and regulations.
-Ensure compliance with IFRS.
-Assist with Unit invoicing
-Assist with administration of APDP claims.
-Assist in performance and review parts profitability analysis by material group/class and liaise with group Pricing team for any pricing decision, ensuring that no part is being sold at negative gross margin.
-Assist with review of Kits standard costs and liaise with Group Pricing team & Purchasing Manager for changes required.
-Assist with performance and review of monthly parts closing inventory analysis by material group and establish trends.
-Assist with performance and review of purchase price variance analysis and assist in resolving these by liaising with Group Pricing team, Buyers and Purchasing Manager.
-Ensure that all credit notes are received from suppliers.

-Assist with performance and review of monthly transport accrual computation and establish transport expense trends – inbound (including customs & duties and non-refundable taxes) and outbound.
-Assist in compilation of financial data, monitoring and reporting on inconsistencies.
-Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
-Assist in preparation of month-end cost & inventory reconciliation and resolve reconciling issues.
-Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasting and monitoring of variance.
-Support decision-making by provision of accurate financial information to management
-Support completion of internal and external audits
-Assist with general ad hoc financial duties as requested.
-Ensure accurate recordkeeping and documentation management.
Required Knowledge and Experience
-Relevant tertiary qualification (Accounting)
-Minimum of 2 years accounting/bookkeeping experience
-Manufacturing experience advantageous
-Must have Accounting Software, Time management and Reconciliation skills.
-Good communication skills.
-Computer literate especially Ms Excel Intermediate.
-Good ability to work under pressure, consistently meet deadlines and deliver to expectations.
